Fiona Rose Murphy Foundation Charity Ride
Circle E Ranch - Belvidere, Tn

On June 5th we (Joyce, Terry, Jay, Meggan and Charlie) joined with many others for the Fiona Rose Murphy Foundation Charity Ride at the Circle E Ranch in Belvidere, Tn. This event was planned 1½ years ago by Gary Holt (www.EquestrianLegacy.com) and Joyce Moyer. Its fruition achieved a $25,200 donation to the foundation for the support of those diagnosed with Osteogenesis Imperfecta – Brittle Bone disease.
After climbing a 11% incline, we were happy to see the welcoming ranch gates offering camp spots, stalls, and a mess hall. The Circle E entertainment started Friday night with a concert by Ryan Murphy (Fiona’s father) playing his own songs in honor of his daughter’s strengths and approach to living. Karaoke was offered with our own Jay Keefe being a singing and gyrating star. We were all surprised by his display of hidden talents.
Saturday night’s concerts were held by Templeton Thomas and husband, Sam, followed by Michael Martin Murphy—songwriter, musician, and grandfather to Fiona Rose. (Anyone remember “Wildfire”?) Sunday was Cowboy Church. In between all this action was trail riding in the mountains, the many vendors’ shopping offerings, carriage rides, and just plain visiting among new and old friends.
